In 2015, passionate volunteers began working together to lay the groundwork for a village in West Seattle. We reached out to the West Seattle community to determine the level of interest in having a village in West Seattle. We held two community forums. By 2017, thanks to the financial generosity of our Founding Members, we were able to incorporate as a Washington state nonprofit, get our 501(c)(3), and start facilitating member activities and support.
WNN members have been getting together regularly. In August 2017, we had our very first get-together – Wine Tasting at Ephesus Restaurant – with witty wine wisdom provided by Mort Tavel, Phil’s dad. In November 2017, we started our Monthly Potlucks – lovely people, member and non-member alike, getting together around a dining room table and sharing great food and even better conversation. Such fun. Some of us have gone on the Georgetown Garden Walk and gone to movie matinees. We had a great little booth at the Morgan Junction Festival in June 2018.
We're reaching out to each other and into the community.
We’ve been listening to the concerns and interests of our West Seattle neighbors, member and non-member alike. As the months have gone by, we’ve seen WNN member interest grow in three different directions. As a member-driven village, we are following the lead of our members.
Here are our biggest projects to date.
