We know each other. We share the same concerns. Often we depend upon each other. Some of us still live in neighborhoods next to friends who’ve been there for years. Others of us have experienced the transitory effects of a growing city. Many of us would like to feel the connection that a thriving neighborhood can provide.
The Village model was created in response to a growing need to be connected. It began in Boston and has been replicated in communities throughout the country. In a Village, members access the social connections they need to thrive, the support they need to age gracefully in their home, and the sense of community they desire.
Core Principles of the Village Model
Create and support community.
Enhance members' quality of life through social activities.
Help members remain in their homes by coordinating access to the support they need to live well.
Exist as membership-driven, intergenerational, grassroots organizations.
AND HOW MUCH DOES IT COST PER YEAR?
There are two tiers of membership.
* The sort of help offered will be such things as rides to appointments, light home/yard assistance, accompanying to medical appointments, etc. If more extensive and/or professional help is needed, the Full Member will be referred to appropriate service providers, who will be included in the WNN database.

"I don't need it now, but I know in a nano second
I could need the support Westside Neighbors Network offers.
And, I also know there are those who do need it now
and I'd like to be able to help make sure they have access
to the help they need to stay in their community."
